Nekw7usem Bridge Naming Ceremony

May 17, 2021 at 3:15 p.m. PDT

On May 17, 2021, the City of Williams Lake and Williams Lake First Nation held a naming ceremony for the Nekw7usem Bridge that connects the RC Cotton trail to Scout Island. In typical Cariboo fashion the heavens opened and the ceremony was conducted during a rain storm! The 200 ft pedestrian bridge was completed in 2020, with the support of grants obtained from the Rural Dividend Program and the Canada Recreation Program.
